The Resident Evil 3 remake PS4 theme adds the game’s box art to the background, but it also makes some other changes as well. This includes changing the icons on the dashboard to have a grittier look, as well as changing the sound effects to sound the same as scrolling through items in a Resident Evil inventory screen. A video showing the Resident Evil 3 PS4 theme also features some music from the game, but it’s unclear if that’s actually part of the theme or only for the video.

While those that pre-order Resident Evil 3 on PS4 will get this extra bonus theme for their console, players on other platforms have reason to pre-order as well. By pre-ordering Resident Evil 3 on any console, fans of the survival-horror franchise will get access to the Resident Evil 3 Classic Costume Pack. This DLC gives Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira the outfits that they wore in the PS1 original instead of the new threads they’re wearing in the remake.
It’s possible that there will be more pre-order bonuses for Resident Evil 3 tacked on before the game’s launch. But maybe any new pre-order bonuses will be tied to Resident Evil 3’s new multiplayer mode instead of the single-player experience. For the uninitiated, the Resident Evil 3 remake features a full-fledged asymmetrical multiplayer mode called Resident Evil: Resistance, which looks to expand the game’s replayability considerably.
Just as pre-ordering Resident Evil 3 gets players new costumes for single player, it doesn’t seem like a stretch that similar content could be made available for Resident Evil: Resistance players. However, nothing has been announced so far, so as of now, fans can only count on getting this PS4 theme and the Classic Costume Pack when they pre-order Resident Evil 3.
In the meantime, more information on Resident Evil 3 should come sooner rather than later. The game is due out in early April, and we still have yet to get a good look at the titular Nemesis monster in action, so fans can expect the game to be showcased between now and then.
