As seen below, North American players who pick up a copy of Resident Evil 2’s Deluxe Edition will receive extra costumes for Claire and Leon, with the former getting a unique “Eliza Walker” outfit, “Military” styled garb, and a sloppy “Noir” getup, while the latter receives an “Arklay Sheriff” uniform and “Noir” suit. What’s more is that the Deluxe Edition also includes Albert Wesker’s Samurai Edge gun for use in-game, the ability to swap to the “retro” soundtrack, and a reversible cover featuring Claire on one side and Leon on the other.
While Resident Evil 2’s Deluxe Edition has its fair share of special wares and goodies to entice players into pre-ordering it, it’s worth noting that there are other unique editions of the forthcoming survival-horror remake as well. For instance, there’s the typical Collector’s Edition that runs for $200, while there’s also a Premium Edition in Japan that sells for $900 and includes a Bluetooth-enabled Lexington vintage typewriter keyboard as well as a slew of other items and collectibles.
Beyond the Deluxe and Collector’s Editions for the Resident Evil 2 remake, fans should rest easy that the game itself should be solid at the very least, especially since the title won Best of Show at E3 2018 earlier this year. With this being the case, perhaps there will be a lot of fans who choose to celebrate Capcom’s work and the series as a whole by reserving myriad copies of the remake’s special versions.
Resident Evil 2 is set to launch on January 25, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
