Claire Redfield is one of the two main characters in Resident Evil 2, starring alongside Leon S. Kennedy. Trying to find her brother, Chris Redfield, Claire undergoes a variety of challenges that lead her through the zombie-infested Raccoon City Police Department. The character later returned for Resident Evil - Code: Veronica where she reunites with Chris and embarks on another dangerous journey.

Having played Claire Redfield already in the Resident Evil 2 remake, Claire’s voice actress Stephanie Panisello recently streamed gameplay of Resident Evil 2 in which she played as her voiced character. During the stream, discussion took place of a tentative Resident Evil - Code: Veronica remake, which Panisello commented on.

“That’d be awesome,” Panisello said. “I hope they do the remake of Code: Veronica. That would be legit. I would love to do it. So, we shall see.”

A Resident Evil - Code: Veronica remake doesn’t seem all too likely in the near future. At the forefront of Resident Evil content right now is Project Resistance, which is the Left 4 Dead-like asymmetric multiplayer RE title yet to receive a release date. Furthermore, a Resident Evil 3 remake has been rumored nearly since Resident Evil 2 Remake’s release and reported success.

As such, while Panisello’s enthusiasm is likely to be much-appreciated by Resident Evil fans, very little so far has indicated the existence of a Resident Evil - Code: Veronica remake. It isn’t that a remake of it isn’t likely, as RE fans may start to get more remakes given Resident Evil 2’s standing as one of 2019’s best horror games. For now, though, Resident Evil fans can look forward to Project Resistance as Capcom’s next big Resident Evil title.

Resident Evil 2 is currently available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
